Rent Assistance Grant

The City of Haysville, through its economic development strategic planning process, has created the Rent Assistance Grant Program.   As funds allow, this program was created to provide rent assistance to businesses between the 7th and 12th  months of the start, expansion or relocation to, or within, designated Target areas.  Target areas are inside the City limits of Haysville and defined as: Broadway (US 81) Corridor; Main Street Corridor; Meridian Street Corridor; Grand Avenue Arterial; public and private Industrial Parks.  Businesses may be eligible for an award of up to 100% of one month’s rent not to exceed $1,000.  Applications must be presented before the 11th  month following the start, expansion or relocation of the business. Businesses must be registered with the city.  Applicants may also be asked to provide, as a contingent to formal approval by City Staff, a copy of that part of the lease agreement specifying monthly rent amount; a record of on-time rental payments; verifiable occupancy and operation in the seven continuous months immediately preceding the month of the grant award.  NOTE: If Application is approved, the property owner must first provide proof of a grant (rent relief) equal to the grant amount requested in the Application.  The Rent Assistance Grant will be awarded the following month.  Applications / Projects may not be funded if the level of direct competition with a business in any Target Area is deemed by City Staff to be detrimental in any way.   Call the Community Development office to discuss your assistance need and obtain an application.
