Mission Statement

The mission for every member of this department is to consistently seek and find ways to affirmatively promote, preserve and deliver a feeling of security, safety and quality services to members of our community.

Haysville Police Department

The Haysville Police Department is a progressives full service department committed to serving the citizens of Haysville.

Law Enforcement in the City of Haysville has progressed over the past 54 years.  In 1954, the department consisted of a Town Marshall.  Today, a staff of 35 people carry out the various responsibilities of the Police Department.

The Police Department consists of the following functions:

  • Patrol - Enforces all federal, state and local laws and ordinances to protect life and property of the citizens of Haysville.

  • Investigations - Investigates crimes, persons involved in crimes and presents criminal cases to the District Attorney.

  • Communications - Answers incoming emergency and non-emergency calls, obtaining necessary information; dispatches police personnel and maintains department records.

  • Records - Enters and maintains reports related to police services.

  • Community Policing/Relations - Organizes neighborhood watch programs, block parties, and other community events to connect citizens and law enforcement together; teaches D.A.R.E. to fifth grade students attending Haysville schools.

  • Animal Control - Picks up stray, injured or deceased animals; locates and impounds animals believed to have bitten humans or other animals; issues summons for animal ordinance violations; investigates cruelty to animal cases.

  • Nuisance Abatement - Regulates and enforces City ordinances concerning noxious weeds.

Training is the key to maintaining a qualified and progressive department.  New police officers are trained by the University of Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center.  New communications officers are trained in-house with an established program.  An in-service program keeps all personnel up-to-date and abreast of changing tactics and requirements.

The Haysville Police Department is proud of its commitment to the citizens of Haysville and continues to strive to maintain the highest quality of service possible.
