FIREWORKS SAFETY & INFORMATION· Always purchase high quality fireworks from a reliable source. · Never give fireworks to small children. · Adults should always supervise the use of fireworks by older children. · Always wear eye protection when lighting fireworks. · Ignite only outdoors and make sure the area is safe for the use of fireworks. · Alcohol and fireworks do not mix. Have a “designated Shooter.” · Always read and follow label instructions. · Never point or throw fireworks at a person, building or animal. · Have a source of water handy, in case of fire. · Never shoot fireworks in metal or glass containers. · Light only one firework at a time. · Never attempt to re-light malfunctioning fireworks. · When lighting fireworks, never position any part of the body over them. · Never carry fireworks in your pocket. · Store fireworks in a cool, dry place. · Never experiment with homemade fireworks. They are dangerous and illegal. · Bottle rockets and other skyrockets that are mounted on a stick or wire are illegal. · It is illegal to shoot fireworks on or under a vehicle, on any public roadway or park, within 50 feet of a firework stand or where fireworks are stored, and gas stations or anywhere liquid gas, including propane is stored. · Fireworks debris should be cleaned up and properly disposed of when finished.
DESIGNATED TIMES FOR FIREWORKS DETONATIONFireworks, which may be displayed, detonated, discharged, and/or ignited within the city limits of Haysville, Kansas, shall only be those devices commonly known as fireworks legal for sale within the State of Kansas. Residents of the City of Haysville, Kansas and their guests may detonate fireworks permitted under this ordinance on their private property during authorized shooting hours as set forth in this ordinance. The detonation of fireworks within the City of Haysville, Kansas shall be permitted only between 8:00 A.M. and 10:30 P.M. June 27 through July 2. On July 3 and July 4 detonation of fireworks will be permitted between the hours of 8:00 A. M. to Midnight. On December 31 detonation of fireworks will be permitted between the hours of 6:00 P.M. to 1:00 A.M. January 1. THE HAYSVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT URGES SAFE AND SANE USE OF FIREWORKS! |
